Mrs. Faten Abdallah has a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science and has done graduate work in Foundations of Education. She favors discussions, dialogues, and simulations in a class. Mrs. Abdallah firmly believes that this manner of instruction is key to impactful and long-term learning.

MALIHA KHAN

Co-Founder

Mrs. Maliha Khan has a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Genetics and has also done graduate work in Biochemistry. She has over 10 years of teaching  experience. Mrs. Khan believes in encouraging  students to develop critical thinking skills and understand that perseverance and hard work are key to successfully meeting any challenge.

Gerald Neff

Gerald Neff, Masters of Science in Education (Mathematics). He has successfully taught for over 40 years.  Mr. Neff began his career in Australia, and then did teaching in northern Illinois public middle and high schools.  For many years,Mr. Neff taught as an adjunct instructor at Rock Valley College and is now in his twelfth year at Rockford IQRA School.  The classes he has taught range all the way from grade six math to college math courses, including AP Calculus and AP Statistics.

Mrs. Ann Marie Wiermanski has taught preschool through adult education for over thirty years in the Rockford area. For the past twenty-five years, Mrs. Wiermanski has been primarily teaching at the middle school level. She holds a BA in Psychology and an MAT in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Learning Disabilities. She holds an Illinois Teaching License with endorsements/approvals for K-9, Middle School Language Arts, Social Sciences, and Learning Disabilities. Ms. Wiermanski is a mother and a grandmother. Her hobbies include reading, walking, and needlework. She is pleased to be at ILMS and looks forward to tutoring new students in reading and/or writing.

Raghda Kharbouthily

Ms. Raghda Kharbouthily was born in Syria and attained her pharmacy degree from Damascus University. She gained experience tutoring Arabic to kids and adults both in Syria and the United States. Following her passion for Arabic and Quran, she decided to study Qaida Noorania online from the Furqan Center, which is located in Medina. Ms. Raghda loves sharing her passion for the Arabic language with people of all ages and seeing them improve day by day.

Ms. Jenilee Johnson's greatest passion in life is teaching. She was born and raised in Sycamore, Illinois, and experienced great success at school and at university due to amazing and unforgettable teachers. This is the foundation of Ms. Johnson's commitment to helping out her students, whatever their abilities may be. Currently, she's studying a masters degree specializing in teaching secondary sciences, rounding out her undergraduate background in Biochemistry. Her areas of expertise are Biology, Physics, and Chemistry. Ms. Johnson's passions outside of the classroom are working with the Daughters of the Nile, which is a non-profit organization that supports the Shriner's Hospital for Children as well as maintaining her hobby farm.

Iffy Kaja

Iffy simply loves the challenge of taking anything, breaking it down and being able to explain it to anyone! With more than 20+ years of experience tutoring a wide slew of subjects including Math, English and Test prep. The two most important lessons that she has learnt is "always make it fun" and "always engage the pupil." 

She has undergraduate degrees in Mathematics, Computer Engineering and an MBA too. For hobbies: she loves to dance (those feet never skip a good beat), read (rite of passage that she gets lost in books), the curious quest for random knowledge lol (she can't help herself honestly), yoga (the human body in motion is breathtaking), and singing (everywhere)!

May Alani

Mrs May Alani lives Bloomington, Indiana and has  worked alongside the Arabic department at Indiana University for over five years. She has a bachelors and masters degree both in Arabic Language from Al-Mustansiriya University in Baghdad, Iraq. May has previously taught four years of Arabic in a high school in Baghdad, Iraq.

Mrs May Alani loves teaching Arabic because it is a beautiful language that has a lot of culture behind it.

Mrs. Fatheya Elwan has more than 10 years teaching Arabic to students. Mrs. Elwan is a member of the American Council on Teaching of Foreign Languages. She is looking forward to teaching young children Arabic.

Liz Mykrantz

Ms. Liz Mykrantz is from Rochelle, Illinois. Her undergrad degree (Associate’s) came from Highland Community College, in 1997, and she received her Bachelor’s in Elementary Education, K-9, in 2000. After graduating, Liz worked at Huntington Learning Center in Rockford, Illinois as a Managing Director for 6+ years. After deciding to leave Huntington she taught elementary, middle and high school. Liz has over 11 years of experience, in the Rockford area, Belvidere, Macomb and the suburbs of Chicago. Since going back into the classroom, she pursued her LBS1 certification, special education. Currently Liz is also teaching at an International Bachelorette Middle School in the southwest suburbs of Chicago.

Yasmin Z. Ally-Jameer

Yasmin is a Doctoral Candidate at Capella University, specializing in K-12 Studies in Teacher Leadership.  She has a Masters in Elementary Education from the College of Staten Island and a Masters in Curriculum & Instruction from Peru State College.  Yasmin also has experience teaching elementary-level and secondary-level students in a variety of settings.  As a former education substitute teacher at local public schools in New York and New Jersey,  she has experience teaching pre-k to sixth-grade students in an urban school system. Yasmin's goal is to combine her range of experience and education with her ability to be an attentive and adaptable teacher using empathy and emotional intelligence skills to manage her classroom effectively.

Jeanne Schlegel

Jeanne Schlegel is a Rockford native, but joined the Peace Corps 

right out of college to teach science methods classes as part of their

government's teacher trainer project.  Upon returning she taught high school biology and middle school science. As her children were growing, she was a Girl Scout leader for 10 years and completed her 

Master's in Outdoor Education from N.I.U.  She joined the Park District as an outdoor educator at Aldeen.  Aldeen was a field trip site for pre-K

to 4th grade students.  Jeanne also enjoyed teaching team building with cooperative games at the Y.M.C.A.'s Camp Wiinebago..

Returning to the classroom, she taught in the Regional Alternative High

School in Belvidere.  Many of the students had been part of the traditional special education program.  We did anatomy, physiology and forensics. 

Their final was a group project to solve a "crime".  For the last  twelve years, she has enjoyed teaching English as a Second Language ,both in person.
