Today is Small Business Saturday, a special moment for us to reflect on what it means to serve our community through the work we love most: teaching! As the co-founders of ILMS, here are just a few reasons we cherish being a small, locally-rooted education business:

1. The freedom to teach creatively. Owning and running ILMS allows us to design instruction that's flexible, innovative, and tailored to each student’s needs, strengths, and goals. Our tutors are able to follow curiosity, adapt strategies, and craft lessons that are truly personalized for every child.

2. Watching students grow. There is nothing more fulfilling than seeing a student gain confidence, discover their strengths, and overcome challenges. Every milestone—big or small—reminds us of why we founded ILMS in the first place.

3. Meeting new families and learners. We love getting to know the families who come to us for support. With every new client, we get the chance to connect with parents who care deeply about their children's education, and who trust us to teach them. That's why we're always ready to communicate, offer guidance, listen to concerns, and celebrate wins with parents.

4. Building relationships with diverse communities. Our students come from many educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds. Being a small business allows us to embrace that diversity and create a learning environment where every child feels welcomed, supported, and capable of excelling.

5. Giving back through education. At its core, ILMS is about service. We are grateful for the opportunity to use our passion for teaching to make a positive impact, whether that's through improved grades or a renewed love of learning.

ILMS continues to evolve because you help us grow with your trust, feedback, and support. Thank you for believing in the power of community and choosing a small business like ours!

With gratitude,

Maliha Khan & Faten Abdallah
